Open to sea kayakers of all skill levels, come and learn from ACA Certified Instructors, with paddling opportunities from calm bays to rowdy open water, and get involved in the Apostle Islands sea kayaking community.
ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
The Freshwater Paddler Symposium was founded in 2023 with the mission of organizing and promoting educational opportunities focused on outdoor education, paddling safety, and learning about and protecting our natural environment while supporting the communities around the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore!
We aim to proved a place for sea kayakers of all experience levels from true novice to ultimate shredder to gather, learn, share skills and experiences and build community.

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
The symposium is designed to connect paddlers to communities. Look forward to social paddles, group meals, and local partnerships. Our base is the small village of Cornucopia but our venue is the entire Apostle Islands area!
PAYING IT FORWARD
As an official 501c3 non-profit organization, Freshwater Paddler was created to educate about paddling and benefit our local communities. We donate 50% of net proceeds to a related cause.
For 2025 our participants contributed over $5000 to fresh water protection through The Superior Rivers Watershed Association.
